Raymond R Miles II History

Raymond R Miles was born in Brooklyn,New York.

Black Moses 1972

The Sculpture of Raymond R Miles has been put into a catagory of its own, when it comes to quality workmanship when it comes to Sheet metal Art.

Other Artist have tried to come close, but never figured out how Miles could get such detail out of strips of sheet metal and put them together with welds that put themselves in position to keep a human form without losing its integrity. Master welders can tell the marksmenship that was put into the Miles technique. Even though Raymaond R Miles has since passed away artwork such as his has not been seen publicly since now. This blog will start to reveal some of the artwork from the Raymond R Miles Art collection that has been put away by his children and will now be showed for those who can appriciate the Sheet metal art which helped him become a well known artist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from the early 70's to early 80's before his departure from the art world. This blog will tell a acurate story about the artwork of Raymond R Miles and his struggles in life to become a well known Black American artist. MORE TO COME
